Sprott Power Corp. Hosts Nova Scotia’s Premier Darrell Dexter at Amherst Wind Farm Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
TORONTO, June 25, 2012 – Sprott Power Corp. (TSX:SPZ), a developer, owner and operator of renewable energy projects, together with its project partner Firelight Infrastructure Partners LP, today hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony, attended by Nova Scotia Premier, Darrell Dexter, to celebrate the completion of their Amherst Wind Farm project in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.
“We are delighted that our project partners and supporters were able to join us for the official opening of this Amherst Wind Farm,” said Jeff Jenner, President and CEO of Sprott Power Corp. “Sprott Power owes thanks to our partner, suppliers, local and provincial government and authorities, land owners, the community, and our staff who made it all possible. This project will provide the province with enough clean electricity to power 10,000 homes annually.”
“It takes a huge amount of vision, determination and skill to pull a project like this together, and Sprott Power and its partners have done it without any financial help from government,” said Premier Dexter. “This wind farm is a magnificent addition to the horizon that greets visitors when they drive into Nova Scotia. It will also play an important role in helping the province achieve its aggressive renewable energy targets. Congratulations to everyone involved and thank you for choosing to invest in a stronger, more sustainable Nova Scotia.”
Along with Premier Dexter, Sprott and Firelight executives were pleased to host the following dignitaries and partners at today’s event: Brian Skabar, Member of the Legislative Assembly, Cumberland North; Robert Small, Amherst Mayor; Keith Hunter, Cumberland County Warden; Suzlon Wind Energy Corp.; DSTN Trenton; White Construction; provincial representatives, local authorities and landowners.
